Beat the Clock – Membership Building Contest

We’re now in the final 2 months of the Toastmasters year. To encourage all of your clubs to finish it with a bang, the ‘Beat the Clock’ membership building contest is now taking place.

Every club that add 5 new, dual or reinstated members between 1st May 2018 and 30th Jun 2018 will receive this prestigious award. You’ll be able to display this ribbon on your club banner with pride to show that you were one of the few clubs that finished the 2017/18 Toastmasters year with a bang.

Paths to Toastmasters – Membership Campaign

To celebrate the launch of the Pathways learning experience in District 91, we have created a special membership building challenge to show that with Pathways all paths to become a confident speaker and more capable leader; now leads to Toastmasters and to your superb clubs!

Clubs adding 5 members during April will receive the ‘Paths to Toastmasters’ award from the District, be showcased at the May Spring Conference in Bracknell and will be able to claim £30 off their supply order. Additionally, we will send a FREE pack of Pathways ribbons to any club that gets the award too!

Getting the Word Out! By Pauline Masters, Gloucester Speakers

The inauguration of a new Toastmasters Club requires commitment, leadership and public relations to help it become a successful club. Gloucester Speakers launched 14th October 2014 and chartered 1st March 2015. Public relations made a significant impact, letting people know about the club existence and accepting new members, all to facilitate development of their public speaking skills.

To spread the word, traditional PR was employed such as press releases, posters, business and networking. Then as now, we make full use of social media, Facebook and Twitter. We found that Meetup has helped move us forward.

Long Service Awards at Harrovian Speakers Club

Harrovian Speakers Club recently celebrated 13 years since its inception and continued the trend of achieving President’s Distinguished Club status last Toastmasters year. This was made possible only due to the teamwork of the Cabinet (as we endearingly referred to the officers committee) and combined efforts of each member of the club.
