How do you feel about winning your award?

What is your secret to winning the award? / Why do you think you won?

The secret for me was to create strong relationships. This includes the ones I already had with my home club, with members across our area, and the ones I put time into improving/developing. That was from every level of Toastmasters – from new members of our clubs in H32 right up to the District Trio (and members beyond our District!). I think I won because our four chartered clubs helped our area hit April 1st as ‘Select Distinguished’; 3 out of 4 clubs were President’s Distinguished and we added a second pre charter club into the pipeline. Therefore, this award partly belongs to the clubs, because a leader is only as strong as the commitment of their team.

What is your next challenge?

I have a lot of challenges lined up but number one is to charter Sussex Online Speakers in the first half of this Toastmasters year!
