What is the Mentor Buddy Programme?
The Mentor Buddy programme seeks to connect members across all clubs in District 91 with experienced Toastmasters who can provide targeted guidance. Unlike traditional, club-only mentoring, this programme draws on the whole District’s expertise so every member, new or experienced, in a large or small club, can access quality mentorship that matches their personal goals.
Whether you want to accelerate Pathways, take on leadership roles, sharpen speaking for work, or simply feel more confident in meetings, we’ll help you find the right mentor.
Why this programme?
Members join Toastmasters for many reasons, and VPEs and club leaders can’t always provide tailored guidance or cross-club connections. This District-wide approach helps to:
- Give every member access to a great mentor, regardless of club size or location
- Personalise support around each member’s goals and preferred learning style.
- Increase awareness of area, division and District opportunities beyond the club.
How it works
- Join the pool: Mentees/Mentors complete a short profile outlining goals, eperience, availability, and preferences.
- Matching: Matching happens using your profiles to align goals, availability and style
- Get started: We provide a Kick-off Guide with a first-meeting agenda, goal-setting prompt, and a light-touch agreement.
- Support & check-ins: Expect periodical check-ins, with flexibility to suit you both. We’ll send light pulse checks to ensure the match is on track; rematching is available if needed.
You don’t need to be a District leader to mentor, just committed, reliable and willing to help someone grow. See here for some tips:
