Growth Together

We were delighted so many of our members renewed and we were fortunate enough to attract new members as well

We have already started planning for next March’s renewals!

Firstly we are always looking for ways to attract and retain members to give ourselves a solid base. Our team ensures at least one of us has our virtual doors open half an hour before our meetings start. It’s great for building camaraderie and friendship and ensures a friendly reception for guests.

We are active and creative about trying new things to draw in guests. Our recent Open House attracted our biggest online attendance and it was good to try something new. Our ‘Speech on the beach’ which we hold annually on Worthing beach always attracts interest so we took it online this year. Our latest member had found the club via our social media and was inspired by a members blog post. Again it helps us reach out to people and make them aware we are here!

We have recently had our local Rotary club President and Vice President attend a meeting and we are planning how we can help each other develop our strategic alliance at a local level.

So we try and cultivate an open and friendly atmosphere for people to push themselves. Currently, we are trying our Virtual cuppa at meetings so in the break people can be placed into smaller groups to chat.

We will get our first renewals email out a good 6 weeks before they are due and encourage people to sign up early. After this, we will split the responsibility for making personal contact with members that have not renewed between all of the club committee. Members may be struggling with work commitments or just missed the reminder. Just talking to a fellow Toastmaster can be enough to get people fired up.

For the Spring renewal period, we have already have been checking in on people who have not been as regular to online meetings to check they are ok or if they need some help. We will review our membership at our monthly committee meeting again and check we are on track against our Club Success Plan.

This year one of our members has helped with a District marketing campaign, another has created a Club Growth incentive video and 2 of our members are sponsoring District 91’s first fully online club.

We always want to be seen as a club that delivers fun, friendly and informative meetings and nothing is to much trouble. The bottom line is we are proud to be Toastmasters and want as many people as possible to experience the growth and fun that we have!
