Plans, Preparation & Performance

Plan Your Learning Path

As we enter Month 4, how are you getting on in your learning journey? Take a moment to review how you are doing against a learning goal you may have set for yourself at the beginning of the year. One of the areas for focus for me personally is the Pathways Mentor Program. I’ve completed the first part of the project and my VP Education has found me a possible mentee so in the next few weeks we’ll look to get together. Share your goals with others. Sometimes verbalising them keeps you more accountable.

When you get to Level 3 in your Path, this is where the projects start to become longer and there is a bit more planning to do. However, the rewards can be great as you develop further leadership skills against a key competency and choose from electives that best fit your needs. If you need a bit more help navigating Basecamp, check out our recent webinar on our YouTube channel or contact your mentor or basecamp manager. Remember, earning 3 of more unique levels in a Toastmasters year earns you the coveted Triple Crown Award.

Smedley Day

Did you know that 22nd October is the anniversary of our organization? This year we’re 97 years old? Think about how you and your club can do something to mark the occasion. It could be a series of social media posts celebrating success and your club. You may choose to organise an event. As a District there will be a couple of events taking place that day, including a couple of Open Houses, so if you’d like to get involved we’d love you to get in touch!

Meet your new Conference Director!

Planning and preparation has begun for the 2022 District Conference. This is our main event in the our year and I’m delighted to be able to announce that Debbie Williams has been appointed as your Conference Director.

Proposals and expressions of interest are now open if you would like to be considered for 2023 Conference Director. Take a look at some of the guidance and check back in the coming weeks as the team refresh the page. Will you join Debbie and some of here predecessors by applying this to your High Performance Leadership project? More on that next month.

Distinguished Club Program

A sure fire way to measure how your club is performing. Do you know how your club is doing in the Distinguished Club Program and how you can contribute? Sit down with a member of your committee and get involved. Every member contributes to the success of their club and the overall experience.

As we progress into our Area Autumn Contests, enjoy yourselves, play by the rules and I look forward to seeing some of you virtually at the Division rounds in November!
