Speaker to Trainer Workshop in the South West

Do you want to develop you ability to use your speaking skills to train others?

Is training a skill you’d like to develop for yourself? Would you like more opportunity to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with those less experienced?  Then, your Toastmasters club and Toastmasters more widely needs you!

We are running a District 91 From Speaker to Trainer workshop in October. It will be led by renowned trainer Elizabeth Toohig.

From Speaker to Trainer

We’re all speakers.  On our Toastmasters journey we learn to inform, to persuade, to entertain.  But this doesn’t automatically qualify us to train.  As trainers, we inspire a new way of being; we help people change behaviour.  Refashioning a Chinese proverb Benjamin Franklin said:

“Tell me and I forget.  Teach me and I remember.  Involve me and I learn.”

The style of delivery, the methods and tools we use are different. In the same way as we learned to speak, we need to learn to train.  To help us make the transition Toastmasters has an excellent workshop called: from Speaker to Trainer. And we’re running it in the South West – in Taunton just off M5 Junction 26 on 29 October 2016. As Toastmaster trainers give their time for free the cost is only £11.21 to cover the venue hire, course materials.

Why make the transition? You’ll immediately benefits by learning a new skill. You’ll feel the pride in helping others grow.

What about the longer term?

Maybe you can take your skills outside Toastmasters and even get paid for sharing your knowledge!

What kind of trainers would we like to see developing in Toastmasters?
