Our District Director for 2023-2024, Diane has a broad range of creative, communication and strategic management skills.  Diane’s aim is to ensure that a member’s experience is as good as it can be by providing high quality training which helps make clubs run smoothly and by holding enjoyable meetings. Diane has thoroughly enjoyed her time as a Toastmaster member and wishes to share and to pass on some great experiences to others; both current and new members.

Steve was the Parliamentarian for the previous program year, and served as Division A Director for 18 months back in 2016. As Chairman of a local cricket league, Samaritan and trustee, Steve feels passionately about how voluntary responsibility can offer limitless opportunity and the chance for us to give back. As a previous Regional training officer for Samaritans, Steve is looking forward to driving the training experience and quality of the education and development program that we offer our members through our amazing network of clubs. Whether it be to improve our communication skill, to discover a District Director of the future or to seek out the next World Champion of Public Speaking he is convinced there is something in Toastmasters for everyone, no matter how long you have held your membership number!

From sitting in his first meeting at Wessex Speakers in Winchester to stepping into his first Division contest , Steve is looking forward to working with the DLT to bring the Toastmasters experience to many more people in the coming year.

Public Relations Manager Nikita Parks

A charter member of five clubs, Nikita has served both as District 91 Division J Director and District 71 Division N Director, and supported both districts’ Program Quality Directors in achieving Smedley Distinguished status in the Distinguished Club Programme last year. Nikita is an IT consultant with over 30 years’ experience, most recently in digital marketing and analytics, and determined to bring the benefits of this experience to our members.

Val is the District Finance Manager who was C5 Area Director in 2022. As a founding member of the Moody’s Europe Toastmasters club, she served the roles of VP PR, VPE and President respectively. Val also joined London Olympians in 2023 and serves as their VPE for 2023-2024.

She started her journey of public speaking in August 2019. In 2020-2021 she won club, area, division and district table topics contests. Val works as a marketing and comms consultant and a leading ESG specialist.

She is passionate about mentoring and sustainability. Val is a former swimmer who continues being active today in the gym and practising Kung-Fu classes. She is secretly pursuing her dream of becoming an actress while being part of the zoom theatre show.

As the ‘Godmother’ of the pack, Rupa assumes a background role providing mentoring and pearls of wisdom to our District Leadership Team for the year ahead. Rupa’s passion for identifying and developing talent will be put to task as she observes from afar and will promote the benefits of lifelong learning for members as they are encouraged to step forward to leadership.
