Being a storyteller

As PRs we are storytellers. We are here to write the story of Toastmasters and our clubs.

We use the power of persuasion, find positive messages, and translate them into positive stories.

There are only two ways to make news:  1) Create a story or 2) Follow a story.

Create a story

By promoting something that is fresh, writing articles, publishing content or posing questions that result in new information shedding light on an issue.

Follow a story

Using existing content or stories in the news, and commenting on them to engage with the dialogue that is already out there.

By being storytellers we are developing our communication skills and personal skills, in PR and marketing.

But it can also be a daunting time. To help you get started and Toastmasters International has provided some guidance on how to undertake this role.
