Division C is the smallest division in District 91 in terms of geographical area, with all clubs being concentrated in or around the ‘square mile’ that is the City of London, and is renowned for its high proportion of corporate clubs (more than half).

This year, we joined forces wherever possible to maximise quality for members and best use the resources of our supporters, leading us to host two division C COTs during the summer season (one in-person and one online) and organise three area contest events to cover our five areas. This has been valuable in getting good attendance for all events. November will be a huge month in our calendar for the year, as we have our Division contest on 8th November (jointly organised with Division B) followed by the District event on 23rd November (also held in London, and to which Pearl is one of those leading the organisation, and most other Division C District Officers are helping in some way). Having such in person events is a tremendous opportunity to bring Toastmasters together from different clubs, with fabulous entertainment/engagement and an affordable price!
More broadly, we are looking, together with the club growth team and other district leaders and supporters particularly, to enhance our support for corporate clubs this year to enable them to greater and more consistent success, for example by increasing our library of specific best practices we can transfer between clubs. At the same time, continuing to engage with and support our community clubs where member retention is always challenging in the fast-paced city lifestyle environment. Members and club officers across Division C are warmly encouraged to: join our events, in November particularly, and beyond, to enjoy the Toastmasters environment beyond the clubs that is waiting for you!
Engage with your area directors on where we can support your clubs to achieve further successes. Help each other, as always, with mentoring, coaching, and anything and everything it can take to support mutual personal growth among all club members. Investigate the possibilities of Toastmasters, from the new Pathways materials to opportunities of officer roles at Club and District level.
